As a portrait and wedding photographer here in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida we get to see so many beautiful couples. Most of our clients are just traveling to the area from out-of-state that are looking for the classic beach photos. They may only get to see the beach once or twice a year, so they want to capture their photos obviously on the beach of the emerald coast. It’s always special to us though when we get to be in a location that sparks our creativity and brings so much color and life into a couple’s images.
Kaitlyn and I are not originally from Florida. We both grew up in a small town in Southern Illinois, so we were always surrounded by either corn fields or beautiful rocky landscapes. When we eventually relocated to the 30A area we had to LEARN how to shoot beach photos. It was a completely different ball game! Don’t get me wrong we now LOVEEEE taking beach photos but there is just something special about being in a greenery/woodsy area that just takes us “home” in a sense.
Jake and Mccall have been our best friends ever since moving to Santa Rosa Beach in 2022! We have done multiple shoots with them and we were so excited to get to capture their maternity photos before baby gilly arrives. Mccall shared her vision with us which made us even more ecstatic for the session! We chose a location in the trails near Grayton Beach in Point Washington State Park. We were simply driving around to find the perfect spot. It didn’t take long to find an area where the yellow flowers were so vibrant and the sun was shining perfectly through the trees.
